Since I’m gearing up for some interesting workout options for my upcoming trip to New York, I figured I’d do the Fitness Questionairre recently posted on Brittany’s My Own Balance and Kimberly Anne’s Manifest Yourself.

1.  What did you eat for breakfast?

Today, Chobani Pear Yogurt with Kashi Go Lean Cereal and chia seeds followed by coffee with milk and sugar but I wish I could eat this (chilaquiles) everyday:

Chilaquiles, breakfast, delicious

Mmm. Chilaquiles.

2.  How much water do you drink a day?

Less than I should for certain.  Ever since I’ve moved to California, I’m thirsty all of the time and don’t drink as much fluids as I should.

3.  What is your current favorite workout?

WundaBar Pilates, Studio City, Pilates

WundaBar Studio City

WundaBar Pilates.  It’s been an a great alternative to the spinning and running that I used to do before I was injured.  I also really enjoy heated vinyasa yoga.  I finally found a few studios in CA that I like and can’t wait to get back to Prana Power Yoga in NYC!  I’m slowly easing back into running and hope to get back to spinning soon.

4.  How many calories do you eat a day?

I do not count calories ever.

5.  What are your favorite healthy snacks?

I love fresh mango with chili spice and lime but I don’t make it for myself often.  I love jicama, pretzels, and carrots and hummus.  I also can’t wait to what I call a New Yorker’s favorite snack, whole wheat fig bars, when I’m back in NYC.  I’ll also be purchasing a ton to take back with me!

6.  What do you usually eat for lunch?

I’m not very consistent now that I’ve been home but my go-to is usually a turkey and swiss sandwich with hummus (I can’t stand mayo) on wheat bread.  I love salads but find that they only seem to taste better when someone else makes them.

7.  What is your favorite body part to strength train?

I’d say legs.  I’m muscular in my lower body.  I’d say arms because I love the way sculpted arms look but I’m just not very strong.

8.  What is your least favorite body part to strength train?

Abs (because I’m so weak) and glutes (they’re close to non-existent and therefore, I’m weak there too).

9.  What are your “bad” food cravings?

I don’t classify foods as “good” or “bad” but unhealthy foods – I could eat Mexican or Indian food every day of my life.  I also love starchy foods like pasta, crackers and bagels.  I’m also quite the chocolate fan (I’m born on Valentine’s Day so would you expect anything different?).

10.  Do you take vitamins or supplements?

I take a multivitamin and sometimes I take omega-3’s and glucosamine.  I should take Calcium but I don’t.  I probably should have my Vitamin D checked as well.

11.  How often do you eat out?

As often as I can.   It’s true, I love to go out to eat.  Jay is a great cook but I derive a lot pleasure from the social aspect of going out to eat.  For me, it’s culinary traveling on a small scale.

12.  Do you eat fast food?

I don’t like burgers so places like McDonald’s and even the famous California In-N-Out doesn’t do anything for me.  However, I do enjoy Baja Fresh, Chipotle and will rarely (if ever) turn down pizza in NYC.

13.  Who is your biggest supporter?

My husband Jay.  He supports me in every sense of the word.  In a fitness sense, he’s the one to urge me to go to yoga or exercise because it helps me be a better version of myself.

14.  Do you have a gym membership?

Nope.  When I canceled my Crunch membership in Brooklyn it was quite a big deal.  I’d been a member for a very long time.  Now I like not being a member of a gym.

15.  How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Not enough.  Maybe 6.  I’m an insomniac that used to not sleep at all one night per week but that’s improved.

16.  Do you have a “cheat” day?

I don’t.  I try to find balance and eat what I want when I want but with reasonable portion sizes.

17.  Do you drink alcohol?

Hell yes!  I like wine and beer.  I’d like to say I like cocktails but I enjoy the idea of them more often than I like drinking them.

18.  Do you have a workout buddy?

Nope.  Sometimes I like working out alone but other times it’s fun to have a sweat date with a friend.  A random run with a friend changed my running forever.

19.  What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?

Changing my focus from obsessive working out and restrictive eating to just exercising and changing my philosophy to more balanced eating has made me a happier person at my core.  I may not be as toned or as slim as I’d like to be but I’m generally a happier human being.  I’m hoping one day before I’m too old, I’d like to rock a bikini and feel good about it though.  I have some lifestyle changes to make but I’m not ready to make them quite yet.

20.  What is the last healthy thing you did?

I made this post a relatively easy one to write so I could get to sleep at a decent hour.  I’ve been crazed getting ready for a three week trip away.

21.  What are your favorite shoes to workout in?

I love my Saucony Running shoes but I haven’t been working out in them too often due to my back injury.  My go to shoes are my FitFlop clogs or flip flops to go to WundaBar or yoga since I take them off for class anyway.

22.  Photo of your favorite workout outfit.

Jay and Wild Boy bought me an outfit at Lululemon for Mother’s Day so I could be stylish at Fitbloggin‘ (and because they knew I’d never buy it for myself)!
