This week I want to give an overview about Joseph Pilates and his contributions to the components of the mothership of WundaBar Pilates, the WundaFormer. The WundaFormer is the unique machine that brings together a modern combination of the best features of some of the most well known machines used in contemporary Pilates today. […]
It’s Wunda Wednesday! Last week I announced that over the next 60 days that I’ll be taking 3-4 classes per week at WundaBar Pilates in exchange for documenting my progress weekly.
Welcome to Week 1 of Wunda Wednesdays (try to say that 3 times fast)!
I’ll admit that I was a little nervous about starting this 60 Day Challenge at WundaBar Pilates. I have doing Pilates PT 30 minutes twice a week since February and I did take one 50 minute WundaBar Pilates class (just to check it out) but the thought of graduating to nearly 1 hour classes 3-4 times a week scared me a little bit. […]
Since mid-February, I’ve been utilizing Pilates Physical Therapy to strengthen my recurring L4/L5, L5/S1 lower back injury. My injury has derailed me from 4 different half marathons but Pilates has been instrumental in helping me to begin to develop some of the core strength I need to be as active as I want to be.
Now that my physical therapist has cleared me to take outside classes, I’ve decided to work with WundaBar Pilates on the next phase of my rehabilitation.
WundaBar Pilates has allowed me to take 3-4 group reformer classes each week for the next 60 days in exchange for documenting my experience here through a series I’m calling WundaWednesdays.
Maximum results with minimum effort is often the goal in life and in fitness. If you have Fitness A.D.D. like I do, you want to get sweaty but also achieve enough strength and cardio intensity in an hour or less. At Studio Metamorphosis in Pasadena you get can get a double whammy of Pilates and indoor cycling in a 50 minute session.
It’s A Wrap – #13in2013
I can’t believe that the end of the year is nearly here and that it’s time to do a final wrap of my #13in2013 goals. Overall, 2013 has been really wonderful. While I was hesitant about making my yearly goals public, I actually […]
Today’s post doesn’t quite align with my Workout Wednesday plans. I’ve been trying to work my To-Do List before I leave to NYC this Friday but I was forced to take a rest day because I got sick. I tried to fight it but the sneezes kept coming, my eyes […]
Who doesn’t need more energy? I’m an intermittent insomniac so to say I’m someone who lacks energy is an understatement. I like my 1-2 cups of coffee per day but the plethora of energy drinks available scare me silly. However, when I saw fellow fitness enthusiasts talking about a the 100% natural spirulina algae pill-shaped ENERGYbits on Twitter, I was intrigued….and lucky because the company sent me a sample to road-test and some literature (shown below).
