A Girl's Night In – Vision Boarding and More

Last Saturday night, I spent a Girl’s Night In with some local friends to create Vision Boards for 2016.  I did create a Vision Board for 2015 (which I kept quiet about) but it was amazing what things on that board came true (see here for my look back at 2015)!

Most of us at the Vision Board session this year are Moms and given that we rarely get the chance to hang out and be purely social adults, I decided to go all in and do my part to make this a super fun evening.  In addition to […]

How Is There A World Without David Bowie?

I had another post planned for today but when I read the devastating news about the death of David Bowie last night there was nothing else I could even think about sharing here.  I’m absolutely certain that a large percentage of the music I enjoy was created in part by the ever rippling influence of this absolute legend.

Is it embarrassing as a music lover to say that I appreciated David Bowie but didn’t listen to his music […]

New Year, New Yoga Teacher.

That’s right, people.

It’s a New Year and I’m a new Yoga Teacher.

YTT, New Yoga Teacher, Yoga Teacher Training, CorePower Yoga

In October I mentioned that I was beginning Yoga Teacher Training.  I’m officially done now and I’m ready to share my experience.

Why didn’t I blog about the process of Yoga Teacher Training?

My program was very intense and honestly, I didn’t have a lot to give to blog writing.

How I Created A Guiding Word for 2016

Goals, Resolutions, Intentions and Mantras

(all with capital letters)

are many of the ways most people begin their New Year.  I’m no different.

I’ve done a “start the year” list in 2013, 2014 and 2015 complete with check-in’s and wrap-up’s to measure my progress or success in keeping with the things I set out to do.

This year, I decided to go a different way.

I picked a word to guide my 2016.

Originally my word was going to […]

A Look Back at 2015

2015 has been both wonderful and challenging.  As a blogger, it’s been incredibly inconsistent but as a human being, it’s been very action packed.  Instead of dwelling on not fully meeting all of the goals that I set for myself in my Goals/Resolutions/Intentions post (GoReIn2015)I’m taking a look back on some of the salient events of the past year:

back injury, x-ray, spinal curvature, L4/L5, L5/S1

I had visions of finally conquering my 13.1 (and even signed […]

5 Must See Movies and TV Shows

All yoga and no play makes Melissa a dull girl (and bad blogger).

Yoga Teacher Training is draining and it definitely has impacted my ability to post consistently.  I’m pretty sure that will be the case until the end of the year so I hope you’ll bear with me.

YTT has been really interesting but also super intense.  I haven’t quite gotten to this pose yet but there have been days that I might have gotten pretty close (at least in my mind):

Jewish Yoga, Challah Pose

To combat the crazy, I […]
