Welcome to Monday! I’ve been a bit behind in everything lately including reporting on my #13in2013 goal progress. I’ve checked in at each quarter of the year – 1Q and 2Q so here goes 3Q:

#13in2013 Goals:
1. Complete a half marathon (the original #13in2013) – Nope. I did do an amazing #RunHappyRaces Duran Duran Appreciation Day 10K (my 1st post injury) and the Awesome 80’s Run (5K) and I’m signed up for the Inaugural Hard Rock Cafe 5K in Nov. though.
2. Perform 13 acts of kindness (inspired by Sandy HookI have done 6. I wanted 9 by Sept but have been severely lacking. Need to step this one up!
3. Read 13 books – This is highly embarrassing but I’ve only read 6 books (does a cookbook count?). I love to read but since becoming a parent (and then a blogger), I don’t read as much as I used to or as much as I’d like. I also have one book staring me in the face that I need to finish.
4. Take 13 different fitness classes and review –I’ve done very well here! I finished WundaWednesday series but I also reviewed a ton of other classes like the Aqua Studio cycling class, the Chobani/Barry’s Bootcamp sweatfest, NYC Rooftop Yoga with Laughing Lotus, 2 Fitbloggin NYC Sweatdates that included a Lole/Uplift Studios outdoor class and a Zumba class, 3 Megaformer class reviews and the 5 fitness classes of FitSocial. BTW, have you entered my FitSocial giveaway contest yet? BTW, there are more class reviews coming so stay tuned!

All for you! Go here to enter.
5. Cook 13 new dishes featuring high nutritional value foods – I’ve done about 6-7 meals and haven’t blogged about any of them. Should I? Anyone have a good recipe to share with me?
6. Commit to my blog via with a minimum of 2 posts/wk – Check! 3/week & one video.
7. Launch a private nutrition practice – Slated date changed to early 2014. See #3.
8. Attend 2-3 Conferences: Check! Went to Natural Product Expo West, Fitbloggin‘ and FitSocial. Will be attending the Fitness Magazine Meet & Tweet in Los Angeles later this month too!
9. Get organized: Create daily/weekly structure for work/home efficiency – I have definitely not made any progress here. The editorial calendar for blog posts does work but I need to get a system going pronto before I launch my private practice in 2014!
10. Begin Phase 2 of decorating the CA house – One tiny step made here. Jay made a huge collage of pictures that we took on our #SecretVacation when we surprised my friend for her birthday in Northern California.
11. Be more present by instituting a daily no phone/computer time policy – Um, nope.
12. Become more financially responsible/get over the fear of money management – Slowly making some progress here.

13. Help Plan Durandemonium – the Duran Duran Fan Convention – Family event happening at the same time caused me to withdraw from the committee and event 🙁 However, I wish my fellow Duranies a fabulous time in Chicago this coming weekend (Wow, time has flown by)! Can’t wait to see pictures and hear stories!
One more quarter to go until the end of 2013. How are you doing with your New Year’s Goals? Did you reach them or have you forgotten about them entirely?
Great goals and accomplishments! The year isn’t over so you’ve got plenty of time! This makes me think I should really write out my goals too… on paper.
You’re so good about keeping track of your goals. I’m horrible with it. I make them, forget them, then make new ones. 😉
But you’ve made great progress… and for whatever reason I feel you’ve accomplished way more than 6 on the giving back… you are such a nice person!
Wow, I’m super impressed with how much you’ve accomplished! You have a lot of goals girl!!! I honestly don’t think I wrote any out this year. The beginning of the year was crazy for me and I just wanted to take it one day at a time…and now it’s Oct! Crazy. I’ve accomplished starting a blog (hooray!) and all my fitness goals so that counts for something, right?
I am so super impressed that you have created and kept track of your goals so closely. I have a lot to learn from that alone. And I for one would love to hear about what you’ve cooked lately, especially any dishes without meat.
Sounds like you’re doing pretty great! I love the accountability, and who cares if you check everything off your list as long as you’re always present and focused
It’s only because I blogged about these goals that I’m even close to remembering them. Blogging=accountability, right?
Thank you for such a lovely compliment. I’d say the same about you lovely lady! I hope NorCal is treating you well. I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures there.
Your blog is so great and you just started this year?!? Wow! From what I can tell, you’ve accomplished quite a lot without having to write them down. Best of luck in AZ and have fun!
Ilene, thanks but only by blogging these goals have I come close to actually accomplishing any of them. Once I’m back from NYC, I’ll take a look through whatever vegetarian (or things that can be made vegetarian) stuff I’ve made lately but I’ll warn you, I’m not the cook in the house, the husband is.
Thank you Betsy!
Great goals! I need to go back and follow up with my goals….I don’t even remember what they were….probably get skinny, lol. I’m working on it still!
Thank you! I bet you had many more goals than just getting skinny! You did get your dream job and I can bet you worked your tail off for that! Hoping to see you next time I’m in NYC!
