Last week I told you why I haven’t been blogging and now I get to share why I’m becoming a cliche:
I’m a health and fitness 45 year old female nearing mid-life.
I’m a transplanted New Yorker living a semi-mellow life in California
(minus the road rage)
and now
I’ve signed up for CorePower Yoga Teacher Training.
That’s right people, I’m becoming a yoga instructor.
By then end of 2015 I’ll be a multi-hyphenate woman:
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, RYT 200
I am embarking on this Yoga Teacher Training as an inner development exercise
(and to fulfill my Secret Goal ย – #9 – ย of GoReIn2015 ย of becoming a fitness instructor).
I’m grateful to have the opportunity to not only to delve deeper into my yoga practice but also to learn how to keep myself (and others) healthy and safe by coming from the angle of being chronically injured.
I also hope to be able teach yoga classes in addition to counseling women in my nutrition private practice.
It’s scary to consider myself a formal student again (going back for my post baccalaureate studies for Dietetics at age 30 wasn’t easy) but even without school, aren’t we are all students in life?
If we’re interested in learning, growing, connecting and expanding our knowledge base, then we really are students (and teachers!) every single day.
I look forward to sharing the progress of my YTT training with all of you and I guess if this musical genius and activist can call himself a cliche, I guess it’s not too bad to follow in his footsteps.
Are you a yoga or fitness instructor? ย What’s your best piece of advice?
LOL! I love the title and this makes SO much sense for you. You must write and share about your experiences because I think you will bring a very unique perspective ๐ good luck!!!
Awesome, you’re going to LOVE it Melissa! ๐ XOXOX
Hahaha you crack me up! But YES, go you, that is a perfect way to cap off 2015. I can’t wait to read about your journey and take your class someday. I have a feeling your playlists will feature a certain band… ๐
I hoped you’d see my post. I’m actually thinking of compiling an “advice” post for when I’m done with YTT and I hope you’ll contribute. I’m excited and weirdly nervous but I know it will be fun.
Hoping you are well and looking forward to news about BlogFest 2016!
They might ๐ Hoping you’re doing well too, Alyse. It would be an honor to have you in a class someday.
Hoping Austin isn’t as crazy hot as LA. Pregnancy + hot = sucky.
Thank you for the good wishes, my friend. I will definitely share (my neuroses won’t let me keep all the crazy to myself).
xo
You’ll be an amazing yoga instructor. Seriously, a good teacher is a good teacher, and you are, well, a good teacher :-). I look forward to following your journey (and I want to go to one of your classes someday!).
I love that you are officially a cliche. Me too! ๐
You know I’m super excited for you and that you’re doing this. Can’t wait to hear about it all!
Thank you, Debbie! I appreciate the support so very much. It’s been an interesting journey so far but I’m enjoying it. I hope to have you as a student one day for sure! XO
Thank you for being an inspiration in this realm, my friend. I’m sure I’ll be reaching out soon for some advice ๐ XO
