It is the last day of February and it’s finally Foodie Penpal Reveal Day!

Foodie Penpals was developed in September 2011 by Lindsay who blogs at The Lean Green Bean.  Lindsay, a dietetic intern (more Dietitian power!), who clearly understands the universal power of food orchestrates match-ups between US, Canadian and UK residents to exchange “fun, foodie things, local food items or homemade treats” with a $15 limit total.

My foodie penpal, Jenni, from Manhattan, KS received a box full of my favorite Trader Joe’s goodies since I knew there were no TJ stores close-by.

I received the most lovely package from Becca V of IL.

Did you notice a wrapped gift in there?  My lovely penpal sent me a birthday gift of homemade earrings in addition to homemade cookies, homemade triple berry jam, local honey and Amish microwave popcorn (which made me laugh – Amish and microwave in the same sentence – but it was delicious!)

Michael Pollan

February was especially good to me in the blogosphere.  I won 3 Michael Pollan books in a contest from health blogger and new mother, Rebecca Rider, at NewMommaBeckers.com.  As a dietitian, I’m a bit embarrassed to say I’ve never read any of his books so it looks like I have my March reading list set.

Speaking of reading, did you (and your partner, significant other or friend) participate in the Valentine Challenge Book Assignment?  Jay and I did and look for the post detailing the books we read and our opinions on Friday.

Do you want to win a contest too?  Don’t forget about The Who’s current tour poster that I’m giving away (see here).

To enter the contest, follow me on Twitter (@mburton0214), and Tweet the following “I’ve entered The Who poster giveaway with thevalentineRD #valentinewho”.  The hashtag #valentinewho must be included to determine entry and qualify you for the random pick.  I will contact the 2 winners via DM on March 4th #valentinewho
