Take A Bite Out Of Labor Day!
I’ve spent some of my holiday weekend being sick so I’m taking it as sign to take a break today (as we all should on Labor Day).
Sending you all sweet thoughts on this Labor Day and hoping you’re enjoying some time with family and friends!
Doesn’t this ice cream sandwich look yummy?
How did you spend your Labor Day?
Even Eminem Loves 80's Music
So it’s absolutely no secret that I have a little fascination with 80’s music but I do listen to current music too. Since moving to LA, I spend a lot of time in my car listening to the radio. I kind of love it because not only do I get the chance to hear new music but I have gotten reacquainted with a bunch of my old favorites. My mind was blown yesterday to hear a combination of the old and new with the new song by Eminem called “Bezerk” (link has audio only)!
2 Sweat Dates With Fitbloggin' Friends in NYC
Yup, I’m behind on giving the low-down on all of my fitness adventures while I was in NYC. I hope you enjoyed reading about my Awesome 80’s Run and my great LA day on Monday. Today, I’ll make it worth your while and give you the details on 2 sweat dates I had in NYC with some Fitbloggin’ friends.
Sweat Date #1:
Tunes For Tuesday – (80's Edition) – Arcadia
Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday (80’s Edition) – it’s August so we’re going 80’s!

You didn’t think you’d get out of the 80’s Tunes For Tuesday theme without a little tip of the hat to Duran Duran in some fashion, right? I thought about it but then I said, “No Way!”
Today’s pick is “Election Day” by Arcadia. […]
An Awesome LA Day!
I know that I’m very behind in chronicling all about my NYC fitness adventures but this past Saturday in LA was a day I needed to blog about immediately because it had everything this blog stands for in one day – food, fitness, family and Duran Duran!
I was in nostalgia heaven this weekend because Saturday was the second annual Awesome 80’s Run at the famous Rose Bowl in Pasadena (a place where I’ve done some running and some yoga in the past). As a fitness and 80’s freak, there was no better way to be welcomed to California than by this race in 2012 – my profile picture on my About Page is from this 2012 run. I think my picture below tells you only an inkling of how excited I was for this year’s race:
Let The Sunshine In – The Sunshine Award
Let the sunshine – Let the sunshine – The sunshine in!
The above lyric is from “Let The Sunshine In” from the musical “Hair” and it’s all I kept singing in my head when I heard that Brittany from My Own Balance nominated me for a Sunshine Award this week. The Sunshine Award is an interactive way to recognize other fellow bloggers for the positive impact they have.
I often feel like a curmudgeon and nearly keeled over when I got word of this lovely distinction. Me? Sunshine-worthy? I’m thrilled that this blog can give a smile to the very fit and smart Brittany, of my new friends from Fitbloggin’. Thank you my friend, I’m extremely honored.
I love the idea behind this award and the meme-like rules: […]
