Welcome to another edition of Tunes For Tuesday (70’s Edition) and today’s artist is Fleetwood Mac with “Second Hand News”. This was one of the first songs I placed on my running playlist and now every time I hear it I can see myself on the first slope on the approach of the Brooklyn Bridge.
I wasn’t always a FM fan but then I saw them in concert a few years ago and they blew me away. I know FM is on tour now as well. If you’re a runner, think about adding this one to your playlist if you want motivation for speed work.
Enjoy!
Do you have a favorite Fleetwood Mac song?
Definitely one of my all time far bands 🙂
Monica.
It took me a long time to come around to FM. I was very vocal about not liking Stevie. I’ve done my penance and apologized to the world. I’m a fan now.
LOVE FM! I never thought of running to “Second Hand News” but it’s perfect!! I have “Landslide” on several playlists. Sometimes, on a long run, you need a good easy song to help you though a rough patch…like a old friend.
Allie: It’s gotten me over some good rolling hills. I hope it works for you my friend.
Oh, how I love your tunes for Tuesday! FM reminds me of my childhood. I had older cousins and babysitters who listened to them and I fell in love with them as well. And Stevie Nicks. What a voice.
TFT is fun for me as well. It took me a long time to come around to Stevie’s voice but I’ll admit that she rocks now though.
I listened to FM my whole life because of my mom, and resented her for it until my mid-20s when I finally came around to them. I still dislike “Go Your Own Way” with a burning passion, but ‘Little Lies’ is brilliant.
I used to say that Stevie Nicks sounded like a dying cow (and in some songs still think she does) and was vehemently opposed to listening to them when I was young as well. I’ve come around and this song has become one of my favorites. I understand your duplicity completely my friend!
