I finished 31 posts in 31 days and now my first post of 2013 deserves to be a Duran Duran one.  I’ll be going to the doctor later today to determine the fate of my running my intended #13in2013 (more on that later) but I’ve been itching to reveal my 13th goal of 2013 and I’ve finally gotten permission to do it so……

13.  To help pull off the most Durantastic U.S. Duran Duran Convention this fall!

Uh huh, you read that correctly.  There will be a domestic Duran Duran convention in the fall of 2013 and I will be on the planning committee.  This is an OMG moment for me in a big way!

When Rhonda and Amanda of The Daily Duranie tweeted that they were looking for people to help plan a convention in 2013 and were looking for help, I never thought I’d actually be picked but I was.  I don’t care how dorky it seems to be giddy at the thought of being part of this planning committee.  I AM PSYCHED and I don’t care who knows it!

I can’t reveal much more than this right now but stay tuned.  I will certainly be talking more about this in the future.  I’m looking forward to meeting more of my fellow Duranies in 2013!

By the way, I still need to go and actually see the Duran Duran star on the Walk of Fame for myself now that I’m in CA.  Any takers?

Also, why didn’t anyone tell me about the CA based Duran tribute band, Rio, before?!  I noticed a few dates in the very near future.  I think it might be time for a true welcoming of Melissa to CA, in the most feasible Durantastic manner possible (I don’t see meeting Simon Le Bon in the near future).  If you’re local, let me know which date and venue works best for you.
