I’m a Family Guy fan.  My first born (black pug), Griffin, is named after the show.  Stewie’s refrain is my mantra right now.

I’ve been depressed about not being able to exercise due to my back injury.  I’ve injured and re-injured my back so often since 2004 it’s ridiculous.

I’ve had to withdraw 3 half marathons in the past 3 years: NYC Half Marathon (2012), Diva Half Marathon (2011), and the  More Magazine/Fitness Magazine (2010) due to reinjury but 2013 will be the year of completing #13in2013. […]

I finished 31 posts in 31 days and now my first post of 2013 deserves to be a Duran Duran one.  I’ll be going to the doctor later today to determine the fate of my running my intended #13in2013 (more on that later) but I’ve been itching to reveal my 13th goal of 2013 and I’ve finally gotten permission to do it so…… […]

2012 is coming to an end and it’s a bit hard to believe.  My 2012 Year In Pictures post yesterday was fun to put together.  It showed me just how many changes my family and I have been through this year and how wonderful things have turned out.

This year I’ve realized just how easy it is to take health and happiness for granted.  I really am thankful to be healthy (I’m trying to overlook the cold I have and the fact that I reinjured my back by sneezing yesterday).  Although I have depressive tendencies, I have a lot to be happy about as well: I have not one but 2 different roofs over my head, and I have people (and a pup) that I love and that love me in my life.

I’m thrilled that this is the post to end my 31 Days of Blogging Project.  This project has taught me quite a bit about blogging (it is a lot of work!) and has strengthened my commitment to continue my own contribution to my piece of the social media world. […]

The Sexiest Meme of 2012

I had to post this because it was the biggest (and sexiest) meme of the year and because Wild Boy thinks it’s hysterical.  Perhaps he’ll stop randomly saying, “Gangnam Style” for no reason at all sometime soon.

Come on, you know you did the dance….

Want A Sneak Peek at the 2013 Rose Parade Floats?

31 Days Project, Pasadena, Rose ParadeI now live close to the City of Roses in California and luckily one of my newest local friends, Mr. Pasadenatold me about a wonderful charity event benefiting the Pasadena Police Activities League where you could get an advance sneak preview of the 2013 Rose Parade Floats this week.

While I’ll admit that I’ve never been a big parade fan, this seemed like a unique opportunity and a way to become part of my new community.

Jay, Wild Boy and I got to see 20 of the floats scheduled to be in the parade including the lead float based on the Dr. Seuss book “Oh The Places You’ll Go” (which is appropriate for our family in 2012).

I learned quite a bit during my tour:  I had no idea that float making basically takes all year long and that the Rose Parade is seen in over 200 international territories and countries around the world. […]
