#14in2014 2nd Qtr Check In
Welcome to the #14in2014 2nd Quarter Check In!
My logo is from a fusebead project so I had to use this image from ArtisRams
Last year, I made the commitment to yearly goals and I followed up on them every 3 months. I did the same thing this year and invited anyone who wanted to do it again with me in 2014 to join in on the effort. Today is the second check-in of the year (here’s the first). How’s […]
Tunes For Tuesday – Erasure
Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
The countdown to FitBloggin’ 2014 is on! This amazing conference is being held in Savannah, GA from June 26 – 29th. If you know me at all and my love for 80’s music, this week’s Tunes For Tuesday should be an easy guess. Yes, it’s Erasure with Blue Savannah but it’s a country version (live in Nashville) and it’s pretty fabulous! Enjoy!
Did you know Erasure is on tour August – December 2014?! Check out this […]
Tunes For Tuesday – Adam Ant
Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
Today’s Adam Ant pick is “Vive Le Rock” in the mid-1980’s. I’m a huge fan of both the early punk Adam and the Ants and the second more pop wave of Adam Ant. I saw Adam in concert in the fall of 2012 and he blew me away with his 2.5 hour set. The man barely took a break and rocked hard. I will definitely see him again any time I can!
I recently added this song to my running playlist […]
Friday's Featured Female – Lindsay@FitandAwesome.com
Welcome to Friday’s Featured Female!
This weekly series features inspirational stories from admirable women. IMHO, it’s always good to be reminded of how strength, determination, hard work, heart and ingenuity can impact the quality of one’s life and I’m proud that these women will allow me to share their stories here.
Today I’m featuring Lindsay@FitandAwesome. Lindsay has been in my LA blogging universe for awhile and after I got the chance to hang out with her, I knew we’d get along. Lindsay is quite an athlete – she runs, surfs and snowboards and was even featured in a Verizon #MoreSoCal campaign where she’s shown surfing and snowboarding all in one day (check out the with GoPro video)! I love that Lindsay is not only an athlete but she has also made nutrition a very important part of her life. Come learn about this athlete and social media maven now!
Sooooo have you met Lindsay?
Tunes For Tuesday – Moby feat. Gwen Stefani
Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
Later this week I’ll be traveling to Chicago for a long visit with good friends. I’ll be in Chicago for nearly two weeks and then I’ll be in Savannah for FitBloggin’ so if posts are spotty, forgive me!
Today’s TFT pick is Moby feat. Gwen Stefani “South Side” which was inspired by Moby’s visits to Chicago and the house music scene. I thought that it was interesting that per Wikipedia that the song draws a parallel between loud music in a club and the desensitization to violence but parody of the hip hop/club/dance music lifestyle in the video doesn’t comport with that concept to me.
I like Moby’s music (although I’m not a fan of his version of “Rio” scheduled to appear on the July 15th Duran Duran tribute album “Making Patterns Rhyme”) and wish I had the nerve to say hello when I saw him at the Mad World Book signing. Oh well!
An Unexpected Gift
Today’s post was intended differently but duty as a parent called.
Wild Boy was afraid to go to bed by himself for the last two nights after watching a TV movie (with the equivalent of a G rating) about a minor league baseball team who takes on a young autistic pitcher. The movie overall was as squeaky clean as you can imagine but there was one scene where the pitcher gets beaten up by some members of an opposing team. WB has not been able to get this scene out of his head and has needed me to help […]
