Welcome To Tunes For Tuesday – Retro Futura Tour Style!

 

Well, in case you haven’t heard, 80’s music is most definitely back in fashion.  I’m still trying to ignore the fact that Duran Duran are going to be playing Fashion Rocks on September 9th in my old stomping ground of Brooklyn (blocks away from the apartment that was recently sold).  The promo clip is genius and the guys all look great.

 

But on to artists that I will be seeing perform soon  – At the end of this month I’ll be seeing the LA stop of the Retro Futura Tour featuring Howard Jones, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Midge Ure, China Crisis and Katrina and The Waves and figured that I’d feature four of the 80’s artists during Tunes For Tuesday during the 8th month of the year.

 

Today’s artist is the amazing Howard Jones.  HoJo is an amazing performer and was just as good in in the rain at Jones Beach in 80’s as he was in the early 2000’s when I saw him at the beginning and end of a tour (when his voice was gone and the audience sang the lyrics).  The clip below is “Like To Get To Know You Well” which was said to be “Live From Australia” (live meaning lip synched, of course).  The 80’s styling is fabulous and is a great way to kick off Tunes For Tuesday – Retro Futura Style.
