Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
I know that just yesterday I said that I wouldn’t be posting quite as often but there’s no way I’d ever give up the Tunes For Tuesday series. I had to use a pun too because that’s the mood I’m in right now.
Today’s Tunes For Tuesday is a classic in my book – Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush’s “Don’t Give Up” comes from the album “So” – a perfect album IMHO. These two voices are just fabulous meshed in this song together and the lyrics always make me persevere. This may not be your next running song but it might help you get any future rough spots. This stanza always gets me:
‘got to walk out of here
I can’t take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river’s flowing, that river’s flowing
Enjoy!
What would you consider your top perfect album?
I love music so I have too many favorites. Basically any R&D album from the 90s… Monica, Brandy, Deborah Cox, Tamia…or Whitney Houston …or jazz standards from Ella or Anne Hampton Calloway…I could obviously go on and on.
Love this song–her voice is always incredible (Running Up That Hill is one of my all time favorites, too.) And did you know I went to college with Peter Gabriel’s daughter? Little known fact. 🙂
I’ve always liked Peter Gabriel. My top perfect album is Coldplay’s Parachutes. Just perfection!
This just gave me chills. What a song. What memories that go with this song. Thank you.
So good, right?
A good one but Coldplay makes me laugh sometimes due to an inside joke with the husband. However, I have many of their songs on my running playlist.
Why have you been holding out on me?!?
I wish I could appreciate jazz more but I just don’t totally get it. Maybe one day….
