Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
Last week I took a break – even from Tunes For Tuesday but this week I have a special post about the Mad World book signing party (complete with a MW inspired tune)!
The night was a fun one with Michael Des Barres, Moby and Annabella Lwin joining co-authors Lori Majewski and Jonathan Bernstein at Book Soup in West Hollywood.
There was a quick Q&A before the signing with co-authors and Annabella. While waiting on line for Annabella, someone pointed out that Judd Nelson was in the store. He was nearly unrecognizable – see for yourself:
Annabella was so incredibly sweet. She signed my book (and why I didn’t take a photo with her, I don’t know).
It was also great to meet Lori and Jonathan.
There were a plethora of Duranies in the house (like Rhonda of Daily Duranie) so I needed to document which Duran guy was and will always be my favorite.
It was a fun night. I was a little tired because I had just been to the Jamba Juice FiTrends Expo a few hours earlier – but it was totally worth it!
Oh yeah, the music for today is inspired by Mad World but not one of the songs from the book. In honor of the lovely Annabella Lwin, I’m featuring a performance video of one of my favorite Bow Wow Wow songs, “Do You Wanna Hold Me”. I forgot all of the California references in this song and I hope you enjoy it!
Didn’t you want to look like Annabella in the 80’s? If not, who was your style idol of your teenage years?
i’m not sure exactly who my style idol was back then, i had my very own crazy look going on. but, i’d say the closest to my fashion sense would have been madonna. not because i loved her, which i did. more because that’s how i liked to dress. fingerless gloves, bracelets up the wazoo and all sorts of craziness going on!
I definitely had the bracelet thing going on but I was very anti-Madonna in those days. I’ve come to appreciate her now though. I do wish she’d work less hard at trying to be relevant though and stop the plastic surgery. Yikes!
