Welcome back to Tunes For Tuesday!
Today I had to feature Billy Joel’s “Miami 2017”. The reason I had to feature this Billy Joel song today is multi-layered:
- It’s a great song. Period.
- It happens to be one of my favorite running songs.
- Thinking about the Sandy Concert For NYC performance of this song still gives me chills.
- We’re in the middle of having 2 guests stay with us that call NYC home but now live in Florida.
- I’m sad that I won’t be able to see Billy Joel perform on New Year’s Eve in Brooklyn.
- It’s Billy Joel. Need I say more?

Billy. Joel. What else is there to say? And that song gives me chills. Most of his songs give me chills. He. Was. My. Childhood.
That is a great song! My favorite memory of him was slumber parties (in 4th grade maybe?) and singing his songs at the top of our lungs! God bless my friends parents for allowing us to have that fun!
Loving the new avatar Ilene! After I wrote this post, Billy Joel announced his first ever date at the Hollywood Bowl. I’m thrilled to have gotten tickets – can’t wait for May 2014! The last time I saw him he was performing with Elton.
Stephanie: I remember those days plus the days of being 20 years old and drunk with friends singing his songs in many, many bars. BJ is always good for a fun time with a group.
