Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday – The 90’s Edition for the ninth month of the year, September!
The countdown to Reach The Beach is on so today’s Tune For Tuesday is running themed with the Dixie Chicks and “Ready To Run”.
I’m usually a New Wave girl through and through but I’ve come to appreciate other types of music through the years. Jay is a huge fan of the Dixie Chicks and I used to make fun of him a ton about it….until I listened to them myself. They’re actually really talented. Lead singer Natalie Maines also has excellent taste – she is married to Adrian Pasdar (who starred in one my favorite very short-lived TV shows “Profit” – very creepy yet enthralling television there).
I’m not embarrassed to say that I’ve seen the Dixie Chicks live. They’re excellent performers. Today’s video is pretty funny and I’m hoping will inspire a similar environment for this weekend’s adventure. This pick is also to honor my NH friends who say they’re going to try to come and see me on my run.
Enjoy!
How do you feel about country music?
Yes! I love the Dixie Chicks, and although I’ve never seen them in concert, I’ve always been a fan. I grew up in Florida so Garth Brooks was one of the first full CDs I ever heard. I don’t get a lot of exposure to country music here in San Francisco, but it’s got a big place in my heart!
I love the Dixie Chicks – I have many of their songs on my favorite playlist!!!
I love the Dixie Chicks! One of my favorites is “Not Ready To Make Nice.” I used to listen to it a ton on my long runs – always got me into that badass mood!!
PS – Natalie’s husband was also on Heroes! Another short-lived fav of mine 🙂
I saw Garth in Central Park and he rocked! I’ve become more of a country fan as I’ve gotten older. My heart stops for Lyle Lovett music.
I find more and more fans of the Dixie Chicks all the time. “Goodbye Earl” is one of my favorites though.
Loved S1 of “Heroes”, S2 was meh. Many people ask me if I got Wild Boy’s real name from that show (which I didn’t).
