I’m hoping you are all getting your fitness in during this busy holiday season! I’m off to ensure my health by getting my yearly mammogram today. Last year my experience was a little scary but it reinforced the importance of screening. If you want to read about my mammogram experience last year, read here and here.
Have you gotten your mammogram this year?
I’ve had two so far b/c I’m not yet 40 but I have a “family” history. Since being cleared of any genetic history via the BRAC test, I was told I don’t have to go again until I’m 40. woot woot BUT I still have yearly ultrasounds since my mother had ovarian cancer but it and breast are closely linked. Lucky me. Good for you getting screened!! Off to read your WUNDER post!
Screening is good. I had the ultrasound after giving birth because a cyst was found. My MD recommended I go for an ultrasound again later this year to get a double check after the mammography. Glad to hear that you are keeping up with screening. The BRAC test is a scary one but it’s amazing that we can get a clue into our own potential health. Good for you as well! Yay for staying on top of the mammogram thing. I know too many people who have found cancerous growths at a young age to slack off myself. I go regularly. 🙂
Glad to hear you go regularly. The waiting game for results is never fun (especially after my scare last year) but better to be proactive than not, right?
