Sounds of Saturday – INXS

In keeping with a “first” theme since it’s the first month of the year, I decided to share a video from the first band I ever saw in concert, INXS.

INXS opened for The Go-Go’s at Jones Beach  in 1984 and I was thrilled to see them.  They were amazing.  I was lucky enough to see them again supporting the “KICK” album at Radio City Music Hall and that show was on fire!

Michael Hutchence was a talent lost way too soon.  ”Don’t Change” released in 1982 is a classic.  INXS are known for later iconic videos like “Need You Tonight/Mediate” (which is brilliant) but I wanted to play tribute to the classic 80′s INXS.  Enjoy!

See you Monday!

I think my brother was at that concert. We were huge INXS fans. In fact, I remember listening to them on my “walkman” every morning commute when I worked in NYC. I think it was the summer of ’85. One of those things that stuck out in my mind.

It was unbelievable! I was also thrilled to be allowed to go to a concert. INXS and The Go-Go’s, who knew they’d be (sort of) legends?
