Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
Today’s Tunes For Tuesday has double sentiment. After nearly 2 years in Los Angeles, we have sold our apartment in Brooklyn. I’m in New York this week seeing friends, speaking at the A Healthy U Conference and lastly, saying good-bye to the apartment that has been the place I called home for longer than any other place I’ve ever lived.

It’s also my 14 year wedding anniversary and I’m in New York and Jay is in California. We’ve never been apart on our anniversary so with a nod to our first joint concert together and the sadness of letting this apartment go, today’s tune is Barenaked Ladies, “The Old Apartment”.
Hope you enjoy!
Where have you lived the longest?
I love love love BNL (Steven Page era). We’ve seen them about 14 or 15 times in the last 14 years… scary.
I’m sorry you are leaving your favorite apartment. No other “words of encouragement.” Just relish and mourn.
That is so sweet. I am moving in a few weeks. Our family has been in this home for sixteen years and we have raised our three sons there. Besides living with my parents for the first twenty years of my life, this is the longest I have lived anywhere. I am excited, and a little sad. It’s bittersweet.
I can’t imagine being away from my husband on our anniversary, but I can imagine how much fun we would have making up for it.
Happy Anniversary! Sorry that you sold your favorite apartment. Enjoy the west coast!
Melissa: Forgive me for the delay in getting back to you on this comment. After my trip to NYC, I needed to take a break from the blog and all things blog-related. The move was indeed bittersweet (and the being away from the husband on our anniversary, somewhat bitter) but overall, things are very, very good now.
I hope your move brings you and your family much joy. There will always be a little sadness but the way I’m trying to see it, is that now we get to make new memories and it’s not so bad to be able to spread out where those memories are formed.
Sending love to all of the Reyes family in their new home! xo
