I’m absolutely showing my age with this Boz Scaggs song. My friend’s older brother played this album a lot when I was young and I’ll let you know that I never paid attention then but the strange name always stuck with me. As I got older and attempted to expand my musical appreciation beyond 80’s New Wave, I gave this song another listen and now, it’s a staple on my running playlists.
The baseline on “Lido Shuffle” helps keep a good running tempo and has helped me through quite a few rough patches. The video below is one static image (the performance video was the baseline only for over a minute and a half and I couldn’t deal with it) but give the song a listen. If you’re a runner this darkhorse might be just what you need.
Doing research for this post I learned that Boz and his wife life in Napa, CA, grow grapes and produce their own wine! Maybe I need to see them on my #secretvacation!
Tell me – What is your favorite 70’s song?
LOVE Boz Scaggs! My high school boyfriend’s father used to play his albums constantly so it kind of rubbed off on my ears! I’m not a huge fan of 70s music but my husband is and his hands-down favorite is the Bee Gees. I really can’t say there’s one single Bee Gees song you can run too!!
