Friday's Featured Female – Gillian@That'sG.com

Friday's Featured Female, #FFF

Today’s Friday’s Featured Female is the very sweet, smart and very athletic Gillian@That’sG (soft g in Gillian BTW).  I met Gillian at FitBlogLA and her great smile and sunny personality made her a person I definitely had to get to know after the rush of meeting a whole slew of people was over.  I’m so glad that the blogging world has brought this fun girl into my real life.  Gillian and I did a 2 hour hot yoga class together not long ago and even though we weren’t in the same van together, we were part of the same Ragnar team just last month!   I’m amazed at how Gillian does all that she does and has a smile on her face.   I’m inspired by her and I know you will be too.

So……….have you met Gillian?

Hi everyone!  I’m Gillian and I blog over at That’s G.

Announcement – I'm Running The 2014 LiveUltimate Run Los Angeles

Disclosure:  This post in sponsored by the Live Ultimate RUN series.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Ever since my Ragnar, it’s been a bit difficult for me to get back into running.

Ragnar Relay

Even after the Boston Marathon last week, I’ve been slacking in the motivation and the execution department.

However, after watching my 7 year old win the relay race for his first grade team in the local All City Track Meet (after winning the Jog-A-Thon with the equivalent of a 10K in 60 minutes),

my running mojo was reignited and I’m proud to announce….

WB relay

that both Wild Boy and I are being sponsored to run

the 2014 LiveUltimate RUN Los Angeles on Sunday, May 25th!

Last week I took a break – even from Tunes For Tuesday but this week I have a special post about the Mad World book signing party (complete with a MW inspired tune)!

The night was a fun one with Michael Des Barres, Moby and Annabella Lwin joining co-authors Lori Majewski and Jonathan Bernstein at Book Soup in West Hollywood.

Getting JambaFit!

Hi there, I’m back!

The blog was unexpectedly quiet for a few days last week.

There’s a lot going on in my world right now but I’ll do my best not to go into shut down mode again.

So let me tell you about one of my latest adventures…

Jamba Juice, Blend in the Good, JambaFit

Last week I was invited to the 4th Annual Jamba Juice #JambaFit FiTrends Expo Event at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica.  It was a great day of nutrition, education and fitness with some bloggy friends and fitness legends.

Jamba Juice, FiTrends Expo

Yes, that is THE Venus Williams AND “Body By Jake” on the schedule!

For me, it’s always a joy to actually get a chance to meet other bloggers IRL.  I was happy to get this photo with Katy@JoyLaughterSweatMonica@RunEatRepeat, my #dirrtydozen Ragnar teammate, Gillian@That’sG, and a Friday’s Featured Female, Tiffany@RunningHutch before the busy day began.

For #BostonStrong and All Runners Everywhere

Today marks the running of the 2014 Boston Marathon.  Although I will never qualify for this race, I am part of the running community and I know that this will be an emotional race for all involved.  Last year my entire family came out to support the #BostonStrong movement and this year, I felt a short post would show my reverence for this great event so in the motivational words of The Alarm, I leave you all with this:   The Alarm, Rain In The Summertime, #BostonStrong   […]

Friday's Featured Female – Karen Booth

Welcome to Friday’s Featured Female!

Friday's Featured Female, #FFF
This weekly series features inspirational stories from admirable women.  IMHO, it’s always good to be reminded of how strength, determination, hard work, heart and ingenuity can impact the quality of one’s life and I’m proud that these women will allow me to share their stories here.

Today I’m featuring author, parent, fellow 80’s diehard and Duranie extraordinaire, Karen Booth.  Karen and I have Duran Duran and Twitter for bringing us together.  I really am indebted to social media for expanding my circle of friends (is that cool or sad because many of them I’ve never even met IRL).  Even though Karen has gotten the chance to meet Duran Duran on more than one occasion, I still like her (very much in fact).

Yeah, that’s Karen and John Taylor.
