Two of the bloggers I follow, Wendy Nielsen (of wendy-nielsen.com) and Christine (of LoveLifeSurf.com) both participated in Old School Blogging Alphabet Meme (A To Z) from The Miss Elaine-ous Life (who hosts a monthly #OSBlogging meme) recently and I thought it was fun to read so I decided to hop on board too. Hope you enjoy!

Alphabet Meme
A. Attached or Single? Attached. Jay & I have been together for more than half of our lives.
B. Best Friend? See A. Together since 1991.
C. Cake or pie? Cake. Either Chocolate Cake with ganache icing (no buttercream for me) or Blackout Cake (from the now defunct Cake Box from Bayside, Queens). If only Vosges Chocolate would revive the Gatsby cake, I might be reunited with chocolate heaven again.
D. Day of choice? When I can sleep as late as I want, hug and kiss Jay, Wild Boy and the pup, Griffin, run without pain or do vinyasa followed by a massage, have every meal made for me and then watch all of my guilty pleasure movies or TV shows until I pass out.
E. Essential Item? A bra would be the practical answer but the real answer would be my iPhone.
F. Favorite color? Black but since it isn’t technically a color, I’ll say green and then orange.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Neither. The closest would be Haribo Raspberries.
H. Hometown? I grew up in both Tarzana, CA and Bayside, NY.
I. Favorite Indulgence? Going out to restaurants to eat and drink well and travel.
J. January or July? July. Heat over cold every time (except when running).
K. Kids? Yes, Wild Boy, 6 years old and Griffin, the pug, nearly 8 years old.
L. Life isn’t complete without? Enjoying food and balancing exercise. Restrictive eating and compulsive exercise is a miserable existence.
M. Marriage date? 5/6/2000 and it was unseasonably hot in NYC.
N. Number of brothers/sisters? 1 sister by blood but many by friendship.
O. Oranges or Apples? Enjoy eating apples more but I have now have an orange tree in my backyard so I’m learning to appreciate them too.
P. Phobias? I don’t like heights and after age 30, I can’t go on roller coasters anymore. My back would say half marathons though.
Q. Quotes? My HS yearbook quote still resonates with me.
R. Reasons to smile? My husband, son and pup. I have a family that makes me feel more loved than I ever dreamed possible.
S. Season of choice? Spring. We had it for 2 weeks every year in NYC and now in LA I have it nearly year round. I’ll admit that it’s glorious.
T. Tag 5 People. I’m going to make this a West Coast/East Coast thing like Tupac and Biggie. Let’s see who participates: West Coast: Carolyn, Rachael, Chris, AJ, and Melissa and East Coast: Deanna, Cherie, Kara, Renee and Victoria
U. Unknown fact about me? I worked for the NYC Department of Health Tuberculosis Division for 2 weeks right out of college but was so uncomfortable being called “Ms. Burton” by colleagues that when an old temp job offered me a permanent position, I left and wound up assisting on the 2 night event, “Daltrey Sings Townshend” at Carnegie Hall in 1994.
V. Vegetable? Like my favorite? I don’t eat it often but it’s jicama. But my friend Victoria makes some of the best brussels sprouts I’ve ever had.
W. Worst habit? I repeat myself and (in that vein) usually give people more chances than they deserve after they’ve hurt me.
X. Xray or Ultrasound? Any mother would likely say ultrasound. There was nothing more amazing than seeing the development of a human being inside you via technology.
Y. Your favorite food? Indian and Mexican. One is better in NYC and the other better in LA. You people who say you don’t like Indian food are crazy…or you didn’t have a best friend from high school to introduce you properly to some of the best food on the planet.
Z. Zodiac sign? Aquarius (Which version of “Age of Aquarius” do you think of when you hear the word – “Hair” or “The 40 Year Old Virgin”?)
SO. MUCH. FUN. Love reading these, but so hard to narrow down answers!
Yay! So glad that you did this. I LOVE your day of choice. That would most definitely be a perfect day!! And jicama. Clearly you have moved to California because I don’t remember the last time I had it.
I loved this!!
Yay!
Loved reading yours too!
Thanks! I have always loved jicama but rarely ate it in NY. BTW, there is a chance that I might be able to do the light the night race. I’ll lyk.
Ahh! You’re awesome!! I’m going to do this ASAP!! 🙂 Thanks!!
Glad you liked it! Can’t wait to see yours.
