Happy 2014 Hiatus!
Hi friends! I hope you all had wonderful New Year’s Eve celebrations and welcome to 2014!

I had a post planned for today but instead, I’ve decided to take a hiatus until Monday, January 6th. I’m taking some time to enjoy my family and properly set the stage for 2014. There’s some excellent stuff coming up and I can’t wait to share it with all of you (and learn what all of you have in store for the year).

Tunes For Tuesday – 13 Songs I Loved In 2013
Today’s Tunes For Tuesday is a special 2013 edition featuring 13 songs that got me through the year.
Many of these songs were not released in 2013 (but you probably already assumed that if you’ve read this blog before) but that doesn’t mean that they’re not great tunes! All of these songs are on my current running playlist so if you’re looking for some new power songs to get you through the next workout, check ’em out.

1. Unbelievers (Vampire Weekend)
This earworm has been stuck in my head for a few weeks and recently got me through a tough run. I understand that the line, “You love the sea” is rumored to based on a character in the movie “Rushmore” – a movie I liked immensely when I saw it but haven’t seen it in awhile. Give it a try and tell me if you can walk away without singing or bopping around to it. […]
2013 – A Year In Pictures
Last year in the infancy stage of this blog, I did a photo collage of the highlights of 2012 and I thought I’d do it again this year. Not only is it fun to have the chance to reminisce about the events of the past year, it’s great to be able to choose visual reminders of meaningful experiences that may not always be top-of-mind. So after searching the archives of a year’s worth of photos, I present:

Friday's Featured Female – Kelly @ No Thanks To Cake
Hi there! My name is Kelly and I’m the blogger behind No Thanks to Cake.
When Melissa asked me to write about my experience in weight loss and about my associated “hurdles,” I jumped at the opportunity. 1) because I adore her so much, and 2) because when she and I met at FitSocial in Denver, I realized very quickly that she shares my passion to inspire others to eat healthily and to lose the weight.
Wishing You A Happy and Healthy Holiday!
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy Holiday! Take the time to enjoy your friends and family today.
Remember – spending time with the ones you love and nourishing your soul is just as important as eating healthy and exercising.

Tunes For Tuesday – Band-Aid
Welcome To Tunes For Tuesday!
If you know me at all, today’s Tunes For Tuesday pick is an absolute no-brainer. Band Aid released this song in 1984 and it is now a classic (it’s almost 30 years old – OMG!). For as long as I live this song will be my favorite holiday tune and I will feature it on this blog every single year around Christmas so be forewarned.
