Welcome to Tunes For Tuesday!
Today’s Tunes For Tuesday pick is a song that I can vividly remember hearing for the first time. Jay and I were in Barnes & Noble reading a few books on a lazy weekend day and The Postal Service’s “Sleeping In” was playing overhead. We both looked at each other and intently listened to the song the whole way through and then promptly walked over and bought the CD. It was that good – and still is.
The song may be mellow but it’s powerful. This is also a great running song. I’m sad that I never got the chance to see the band live but I found this clip from last year’s Coachella. It looks like the performance puts to rest the idea that an electronic band performance can be boring. Hope you like it too!
What’s your best “I remember when I first heard this song” memory?
I remember the first time I heard ‘This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan… I think it was on a Jock Jams CD. I even choreographed a gymnastics routine to that song…
I don’t know this song but I like that song from Postal Service that was in the tv show The OC way back in the day! Reminds me of college! 🙂
Kimberly: If that song doesn’t make you move, you’re dead inside.
The OC had great music and Benjamin McKenzie who I still think is adorable.
